The library has 7 desktops and 6 Chromebooks available for public use. All desktops have Microsoft Office installed.

  • Desktop sessions are limited to 1 hour with the possibility of extension by library staff. Patrons under the age of 18 must have a Juvenile Internet Access Policy signed by a parent/legal guardian or a parent/legal guardian present in the library.
  • Chromebooks must be checked out to a library card to use.
  • The library provides free access to wireless internet inside the building. Additionally patrons 18 and over may check out Wi-Fi Hotspots.

    • Device support
    • TN READs
    • Library Catalog

We offer one on one computer support by appointment and help with specific tech-related questions during our Tech Hour, Saturdays 11am to 12pm.

  • The library has a printer/copy machine available for public use.
  • Prints may be made using one of our computer lab computers or by email to the library.
  • Prices for printing/copying are as follows:
    • Black and White pages are $0.20 per page
    • Color pages are $1.00 per page
    • All pages that are printed must be paid for.
  • The library offers scanning free of charge.

The library offers faxing services at $1.00 per page. We will provide a cover sheet. We do not charge for either the cover page or the confirmation page. We are not able to receive faxes.

The library serves as the dispatch for NORVAT or Norris Volunteer Assisted Transportation. NORVAT is designed to provide transporation to Norris area residents who otherwise cannot transport themselves to medical appointments, business appointments, grocery trips, and some personal errands.

NORVAT drivers are all volunteers and the service is completely free. To learn more about NORVAT, sign up for the service, or volunteer as a driver, please contact the library at 865-494-6800 or questions@norriscommunitylibrary.com.

Don’t see a book in our collection? Ask us about it! The library offers interlibrary loan services free of charge. We may be able to get the item for you from another library in the state. 

Newly published items may be purchased instead. Please read our collection development policy for more information.

The following tech items are available in our library of things:

VR Headsets (in library and supervised only) are available thanks to a grant received from the Norris Area Community Foundation and the East Tennessee Foundation. Please follow us on social media or through our library calendar for workshops using our VR headsets.

Started in March of 2024 with the help of several local community partners and donations from heirloom seed companies, the Norris Seed Library aims to provide free seeds for all! The library also works to provide educational and fun programming throughout the year on gardening, environmental stewardship, and more.
