The Friends of the Betty Anne Jolly Norris Community Library is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and volunteer group that was organized in 2001. Its mission is to support the Norris Community Library, help promote the use of the library, focus attention on library services, and to develop supplemental funding for the library. The Friends group has assisted the library in the past with purchasing library materials, major and minor renovation, technology purchases and repair, and the annual Summer Reading Program.
The Dirt Hippie Kitchen & Mercantile, LLC started as a fresh honey business before its owner opened a store front restaurant in the center of Norris beside the Police/Fire Station in 2024. They serve country cooking and merchandise.
National Library Week is “an annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening our communities”. In 2026, National Library Week was held April 19th-25th and its theme was “Find your Joy”.
